  Accompanists

Kenny Simmons. Trained in classical piano to grade six conservatory [RCM], Kenny's musical interests widened to include jazz piano as well as drumming and
percussion. A self-taught drum kit player, he has played in funk, blues, punk, and rock bands. Kenny became interested in West African percussion over ten years ago. He has taken part in a number of drum workshops in that style, and travelled to Ghana to study under a percussion master for several months. Kenny is a member of a percussion troupe and plays for the Davis Studio of Dance. He incorporates djembe and conga drums and other percussion using West African rhythms and style into an 'accompanist for dance' style.
